Hazards  What unsafe conditions or acts are there? SEE IT What could happen as a result of an unsafe act or condition? THINK IT What must be done to eliminate or minimize the hazard? DO IT  Hazards exist in our life, including at work, home, school and at social events. We need to develop skills to be able to recognize, evaluate and control these hazards before injury occurs.  What potential hazards exist in a class setting or other classes in the school? What hazards could be created in a class setting or other classes due to unsafe practices or poor safety procedures? Hazard Picture Assessment  - Review each picture - what are the hazards evident in each picture as linked. On Board: See It - (Recognize) What is unsafe?  Think It - (Evaluate) Why is it unsafe? Do It - (Control) What must be done to make it safe?  Group Work Assignment. x 4 Groups Scenarios. *Scenario 1 - we will do as a class. Dec 7 2021 Worksafe BC Module 3 Emergency Procedures

TTOC - Attendance list - as emailed.  Please review the Work Safe Module 3 lesson below with the class. WorkSafe BC Module 3 Emergency Procedures  Please split the class into 4 groups and assign each group 2 scenarios (of the 8 provided in the lesson).  Each group to complete their group work package and answer the corresponding questions for both of their scenarios.  One package per group.  (TTOC  your photocopies for this lesson (one per group - max group size 4-5) are located in either the second or bottom drawer underneath the windows behind the teacher desk.)   Group completion time for assignment - 20-25 min. Come back together for larger class discussion thereafter.  Remind all groups to put all names of group participants at the top of their packages.  Please collect all packages post lesson.

  Rights and Responsibilities: Who is responsible for ensuring safety in the classroom?  What rights do the students have? What responsibilities do students have? Answer Key: We are now going to think about what rights and responsibilities employers and workers have towards safety. Group Work: Max group size 4. Your group to choose a job that you do or may do in the future (garden worker, busboy, warehouse worker, kitchen worker, babysitter, etc.)   Group Questions: • What do I have the right to expect from my employer? • What responsibilities do I have? • What does my employer have the right to expect from me? •What responsibilities does my employer have?  Group to put all answers on one sheet of paper with all group names on it.  Note: One side of the paper: employee rights and responsibilities and the other side employer rights and responsibilities  Sample: Further Group Work: You will receive a scenario (1-5 as listed below). Your group  to brainstorm and list the responsibilities
